The team that will accompany you is composed of photographers and naturalists, all of them passionate about wildlife and true specialists of Patagonia.
Luis Bertea R. – Designer, photographer and publisher
Photographer and publisher of books, magazines and regional maps since 1998, Luis is extremely knowledgeable about digital photo development and graphic design software (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign among others, from a PC or a Mac platform). In the late 90s he became interested in photography, and began to go on outings with Daniel Bruhin W. in Patagonia using analogue cameras. In 2005 he entered the era of digital photography, and has participated as a photographer in research projects related with cetaceans and historical documentation.
Thanks to the passion he puts into his work, he has been invited to photograph places as far apart as India and Antarctica. Luis is fluent in Spanish and English.
Daniel Bruhin W. – Professional photographer and publisher
A lover of freedom and the wild outdoors, Daniel has been working in the region since 1987. He is an expert on Torres del Paine National Park and has photographed its secrets on more than 1500 days. In the last few years he has started to diversify his expeditions into unknown corners of the Province of Última Esperanza, exploring Sierra Baguales, the Antonio Varas Península, Cerro Rotundo, Canal de las Montañas and other remote areas of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego. Apart from Spanish, he speaks English – learnt during his stay of one year in New Zealand –, French and some German.
Daniel has been publishing postcards, calendars and posters of Patagonia and other places in Chile since 1992. His first book, the result of more than 20 years work, was published in February of 2010 and is dedicated to Patagonia. His high quality publications are known to be printed in some of the most prestigious printing houses in Europe and Asia. He is a self-taught photographer, and believes this is a gift he inherited at birth: the art of seeing.
Ricardo Matus - Naturalist specializing in birds and animals of the region
Born in the Magellan Region, as a naturalist he has participated in a variety of research and conservation projects related with birds and mammals of the region. He paints birds in watercolours and illustrated the book Aves de Magallanes (Birds of Magellan). He is currently working on the illustrations for a field guide of birds of Patagonia. Ricardo lives in Punta Arenas, where he has been working as a guide for tourists of special interests since 1985. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
Osvaldo Larrain L. - Professional photographer
Osvaldo has been a photographer for 30 years, having studied in Spain and in the United States, majoring in photo design and arts. He is passionate about nature, and is a renowned birdlife photographer. He participates in photography forums such as fotonaturaleza.org, an Argentinean website and fotonaturaleza.cl, a Chilean website. He organises workshops specialising in nature photography and he is a Photoshop instructor, with various publications on birds and other kinds of wildlife. He speaks English in addition to his native Spanish, and currently lives in Santiago de Chile, where he teaches courses for small groups, both on site and theoretical.
Cristián Cvitanic – Nature Photographer and Trip Leader
Born in Patagonia, he combines his training in art and photography with over 15 years experience in the travel and tourism industry throughout South America. He has managed to reach the most remote corners of this magnificent part of the planet.
Cristián has led groups through Chile, Argentina and Brazil, learning and teaching about the diversity of places such as the Atacama Desert, the Wine Valleys of Chile, the Tropical Jungle of Iguazú and the vast Steppes, Glaciers and Mountains of the Patagonia.
He speaks fluent English as well as some basic German.
He has plenty of experience in photo editing with programmes like Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
